Fishstick at World Cafe LiveRooted firmly in what Greil Marcus refers to as “the old world America” tradition, Scott Ratinoff, AKA Fishstick, is quickly carving a niche for himself in the Philadelphia area. His first two solo discs, “White Russian” and “Professional Fishstick,” are just that: the man, his voice, his guitar and some drum programming. The in-progress next release will feature him in the studio with drummer/pianist Mike Lawson, and a bass player to be named later. You can also see Scott playing guitar and harmonica with the band Six Pack Creek.

A double-threat, Scott’s latest solo exhibition of paintings, “The Language of Love,” is up now at Lickety Split.
