Buffalo Wings That’ll Have You Flying

AzureSo you just paid the entrance fee at the Constitution Center, you bought your Van Gogh print at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and you have twenty bucks left in your daily budget for dinner for two. You could get cheesesteaks or split one entree at the Continental“”OR”"you could get two pint glass margaritas, a giant mushroom quesadilla, and the best wings in the entire city. Azure, located on the same block as the Standard Tap in Northern Liberties, serves what they call vacation cuisine, which is essentially slightly Caribbean-inflected bar food. The atmosphere is a little shorts and Teva sandals for my taste, but this deal is the best in town.

From 5 until 7 on weekdays the pint glass margaritas are $4.00, and the appetizer menu is half price. Which means you can get a giant Greek plate for $4.00, the amazing Mushroom Quesadilla for $4.00, and the Honey and Ancho-Chile Buffalo Wings for $3.50, which are, hands down, the best wings in the city. All Drafts are $1.00 off, and the rest of the bar menu (Fried Calamari and Jalapenos, Sweet Potato Fries, Pot Stickers, etc.) is priced under $5.00. Just be aware that the happy hour prices are only available on the bar side of the restaurant.

I love Azure because they have a fabulous vegetarian menu for my vegetarian friends. They also have the best brunch menu. You can get Mimosa, Bloody Mary’s, and other favorite brunch classic drinks for $4. If you like mussels, try Azure’s! It is delicious.

Oooh…I have only been to Azure once, but loved it and have been waiting for an opportunity to get back there!

I was quite impressed – it is often hard to find a place that carnivores (like myself) will enjoy as much as vegetarians, but Azure fits the bill…

And those sweet potato fries are incredible!
