Ladies: Meet Charlie, Angel of Jeans

Seven For All Mankind

I never get to say this, so please know that I say it with genuine pride and accomplishment: My name is Ashlie, and I scored the most amazing pair of jeans today.

Years ago I had given up hope at achieving such a thing. Owning awesome jeans”"a staple to most people’s wardrobe”"has always eluded and consequently frustrated me. I’m a tall woman, who hardly fits the mold. But, having heard really good things about this shop on Market Street, Charlie’s Jeans, I decided to give denim love one more chance.

I strolled in, iced-latte with skim milk in hand, and an attitude of “Go ahead, make my day.” The shop was busy, but everyone there was very friendly. Walls and tables were stacked with every shade and shaped of denim imaginable. Brands galore. I immediately felt overwhelmed and wanted to turn back.

That’s when he spotted me-Sebastian, the owner of Charlie’s. He smiled and told me to follow him and he would take care of me. I nervously abided and within minutes found myself in a dressing room trying on a pair of Seven For All Mankind jeans. I never even told him my size. He just knew. The fit, the color, the length”"everything was just right and I could hardly believe it.

Do you believe? Find out for yourself.

Ooh, a new place to search for jeans! Soooo bored with the department stores having all the same brands and styles.

I have walked in there twice and walked out with the perfect pair–not an easy feat for a girl who’s 5-foot-two. He really is quite amazing.

I once went to the Levi Store in San Francisco where you can stand semi-naked on painted feet in a dark cubicle and be computer scanned for size. It works, but Charlie’s sounds much more civilized.

Sebastian worked his magic on me once. I’m hoping he can do it again on Black Friday. Charlie’s virgins, consider yourself warned: good jeans do not come cheap. You’ll drop over $100 bucks easy.

I have been visiting Sebastian for years and there is no one more skilled in the art of jeans-fitting. I have sent friends, my boyfriend, and, Sebastian’s crowning achievement: my mom. May be a little pricey, but the value of well-fitted jeans that you can wear forever is, as you know, priceless.

Went to Charlie’s this weekend. It’s now in a super-sized spot across the street. You know what that means — even more great jeans to choose from!
