I wouldn’t call this an “undiscovered gem” because it seems like every “hot” looking Philadelphian I have asked gets his or her haircut from Lee at HeadArea. No joke. Every sexy, romantic haircut, every tassled bang and messy-on-purpose hairdo I envy was done by Lee. So what took me so long to call?

Dunno.

But when I finally called I was lucky enough to get in quick because of a cancellation. I’d been cutting my own hair so long I was worried he’d have a look and wonder what rookie had done this to me. He had a few words, but mostly he had ideas. He said he understood what hair-do I was going for and did some arranging and showed me we were on the same page. Then he got to cutting.

By the time Lee was done I felt like I had great hair. I’d never felt like I’d had “great hair” before and when I left 2 hours later (he routinely takes this long) I was totally amazed. I even had this moment… I’m embarassed to admit it… OK. So I walked to a store after I left and I honestly was wondering if people, total strangers, were “noticing” how awesome my hair was. Indeed, I was red carpet ready.
