For many of us “liberated” women, it can be quite a stretch to imagine ourselves cooking our own meals, let alone whipping up a dress du jour. But should you get the itch–the Stitch Itch that is–then I know exactly where you need to go. There’s this little-known organization of seamstresses here in Philadelphia called the Philadelphia Sewing Collective. They have a great little series of classes that teach you how to sew just about anything your heart might desire. You can become your own fashion designer or even get drapes on the windows in the house that you bought well over a year ago!
