One of the best veggie burritos in the city is La Lupe, the formidable neon Mexican joint that neighbors the famous neon cheesesteak Pat’s/Geno’s nexus at 9th and Passyunk.

The La Lupe veggie burrito is the best because it is both flavorful and the size of a small dog. These burritos are bombs of cheese, rice, delicious greens, veg and spices, covered in sour cream and guacamole, and are well complemented by the liberal addition of hot sauce (left up to you at the table). For $8 these guys pack a punch that can get you through the entire day. I’ve skipped meals to hit La Lupe fully prepared to cover rolling hunger pangs with huge, gluttonous bites, and I’ve left glowing and satisfied enough to fall asleep and dream soft, satisfied dreams.
