Let’s Fill Those Tables ASAP

You know how conventional wisdom says that people are more likely to call a manager with a complaint than a compliment? Well, even though in better moments, I fancy myself a modern-day Mother Teresa, I’d have to admit that the axiom holds true for me, too. That’s until I ate at Crescent City, on 9th and South, and I was so blown away by my food that I actually did call the manager with my accolades.
I was sampling a lot of different wines so don’t hold me to this, but I think I ordered the shrimp creole and my table split the cheesesteak egg rolls and the crisped tomato stack with house select cheeses as appies. SO GOOD. I mention this in case you’re having food envy and want to try the same thing.
This is a New Orleans-style restaurant that opened in March of “Ëœ06. It’s a big space with clean lines and up-to-date décor (and a separate bar area with great drinks but a slow-as-hell bartender “¦ grr). It has a lot of potential for a fun atmosphere, but the place was practically empty on a weekend night. This worries me. I would hate to watch such a full-on yummy restaurant wither away. So hurry up and eat there, will ya? You’re welcome.

I used to work at crescent city, the tomato stack is one of the best things ive ever tasted in my life! but the head chef made it a living hell to work there, he was such a twat and treated his employees badly once things seemed to start getting financialy tight. he made the whole place a prison-with that said the other co-owner was a doll and the customers were almost always very nice and tipped well.
