Where Do I Always Feel Like a Million Bucks?
The lobby of the Ritz-Carlton. It’s classy and classical, inspired by the Pantheon in Rome. (But look up; this oculus is glass-covered. No need to avoid the place in the rain.) The hotel’s lobby round like a marble, and made of marble, and one of my favorite indulgent spots for drinks. Stay for dinner in The Grill; and don’t miss the striped bass in tapioca coconut broth by Chef de Cuisine, Kevin Sbraga. (I’m a meat more than a fish person, but my dinner companions and I are still talking about that stellar striper.)
Final treat–be there at 6 p.m. for the parade of candles. Staff line up like kindergarteners and deposit hundreds (seemingly) of votives throughout the lobby. It would be silly if it weren’t soooo pretty.
