First Friday Pick: Outlaw at Bambi
The Outlaw dudes, Port Richmond miscreants Pete Whitney and Joel Peterson, don’t seem to come up for air very long to show off. They run a prolific shop that cranks out design after beautiful eye-burning design. Their zillion-color freakout style meditates in the plush dead zone between electroclash-era Making Time flyers and Dinotopia.
Fishtown’s Bambi Gallery is hosting the guys this Friday. They’ll be showing a slew of (likely very affordable) new work and there will be free drinks. Also on hand will be Hector Hernandez and his new narrative series of paintings in the old pulp comix way, collectively titled “Debbie Does What Debbie Wants With Debbie’s Sister’s Fiancé.” Art! Don’t miss it.
