It’s All About the Beer: Triumph Brewing Co.

Triumph Brewing Company is located in the heart of Old City, next to World Fusion. This restaurant and brewery opened its doors a few weeks ago, offering their famous, fresh brews and American cuisine.

My friend is an employee at the Triumph in New Hope and invited a couple of us to join her at the recent opening in Philadelphia. We had a reserved table upstairs and the ambiance was modern with a full glass wall that separated the brewery from the actual restaurant. The food was family style and the portions were not overwhelming but satisfying (and I have a good appetite). The three of us ordered the calamari, the tricolore pizza, and the seared shrimp with scallops. We loved every food item and we were comfortably full.

It’s pretty much all about the beer. We sampled the freshly brewed beers – about 10 in all. The glasses are small, maybe 2 ounces, enough so that we could get a good idea of what we liked and didn’t like. Generally, I’m not a beer drinker, but the beers seemed fresher and the variety of tastes was amazing. I actually liked the taste of almost all of these brews. If you’re a beer connoisseur this is an absolute must.

Scoats says:

Triumph raises the bar for bars (which doesn’t happen too often). The interior is a wonderful blend of modern in an old building, very urbane. The food is incredible and the beers are tasty. It’s can be pricey but you get what you pay for.

World Fusion was long gone before Triumph ever opened. Triumph is next door to Cebu.
