On Stage With Danielia Cotton & Jennifer Glass

World Cafe Live’s ongoing series, On Stage, features Danielia Cotton and Jennifer Glass. Check out Cotton as she performs her take on AC/DC’s “Back in Black”, and sit back and smile as you’re enchanted by Jennifer Glass’ sweet blend of country and rock n’ roll.
Cotton influences range from AC/DC to Judas Priest to Todd Rundgren. Her latest album, Small White Town, has earned her comparison to artists like Tina Turner and Janis Joplin. You can stream some clips from her new album on her official website.
Glass has shared the stage and played tour dates with artists the likes of Dave Matthews, Ben Kweller, and Rhett Miller. Her current band features a bunch of star musicians, including Catherine Popper (Ryan Adams’ band) and Mark Stepro (Ben Kweller’s band). Her first release, Little Shouth, was produced by Tommy Borscheid (Rhett Miller) and mixed by Adam Lasus, who happened to work with a favorite group of mine, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.
You can stream some of Glass’ tunes off her official website, as well as download her interview with Dave Marsh.
You’ll be able to catch this episode of On Stage on July 15th on WHYY at 11pm. Make sure you check your local PBS listings for show air dates and times, and contacts your local station and let them know you want to see On Stage!

There are a lot of great shows going on at World Cafe Live this week, but one of the coolest has got to be on July 18th with no other then Arrested Development, who have nothing to do with the canceled-before-its-time television sitcom of the same name.
Arrested Development formed in the late 80s, rising to fame through the 1990s with their positive, Afrocentric alternative to popular mainstream gangsta rap. They produced hits like Tennessee and People Everyday, earning them two Grammy awards in the process. Afterwards, they worked with the legendary Spike Lee on his Malcolm X biopic.
Doors are at 6pm and the show kicks off at 7:30.
