This Friday: Philly Song Shuffle

Imagine a seamless string of 50 songwriters, each performing their best song with only 4 seconds of silence before the next act begins “” just like your iPod set on shuffle mode, but live, onstage, and non-stop for over three hours! That’s the Philly Song Shuffle, and it’s coming to World Café Live this Friday, August 31!

The line-up of musicians includes a variety of solo artists and groups, ranging from virtually unknown artists to those who frequently sell out venues. Now celebrating its 5th exciting year, this one-of-a-kind concert originated here in Philadelphia, and remains the only live song shuffle anywhere. The Shuffle brilliantly brings some of Philly’s best independent artists together under one roof for music fans to sample.

Beyond just being able to sample the artists’ songs, the audience also has opportunities to rub elbows with many of the performers. When not onstage, many of the musicians join the audience to watch the show, and some artists also volunteer their time to help the Shuffle run smoothly. The vibe before, during, and after the show is like a huge house party where some of the guests happen to be great musicians. You’ll want to be a guest at this party, too!

Tickets are available at www.worldcafelive.com or at The Live Arts-Fringe website

The Philly Song Shuffle is produced by Mick Choder/Small Boned Creature Productions and the XFS as part of the Philly Fringe.
