This Just In: Canvas Clash!

Post submitted by Jill Burke
What happens when you don’t get your arts-and-entertainment fix at the First Friday gallery openings? Freshout has a solution! At 929 South Street, Freshout has been transforming a rooftop parking lot into a lively celebration of artistic expression with energetic DJ sets, dance performances, an open gallery of art vendors and live performance artwork. Canvas Clash is a summer series that takes the concept of First Fridays to a whole new level on the Whole Foods rooftop for an event that is guaranteed to please the whole family.
This Saturday, the Mural Arts Program is coming through with the one-and-only Pose 2 to do a mural on the back wall. The clash also has Leon Rainbow, Kasso, Vorcan, Todd Marrone, and SAGAMOOR collaborating live on the canvasses, while DJs Phsh, Luke Raws, and Shawn Ryan keep the summer feel-good grooves spinning all day long for the b-boys and b-girls getting down on the dance floor. If you haven’t been to a Canvas Clash event before, this is your last chance before the summer series ends!
So, with FREE burgers and hot dogs (thanks to Flexcar!) and face painting for the kids, there is really no reason for not being on the rooftop this Saturday, kickin’ it with Freshout.
The free outdoor event will take place on the rooftop parking lot of Whole Foods Market at 929 South Street this Saturday, August 4th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
