Tuesday is the new Wednesday, or something like that. Last Tuesday I was touring around some people from Chicago and it occurred to me, “I like comedy, they like comedy.” Why not go see some comedy! I’ve walked by Helium time and time again but never had the urge to actually step foot in the place.

But there’s a first time for everything, and the fact that it was free helped sway the consideration. Free, in this case, equals open mic night. 20 comedians of various caliber, pro and not pro, workshopping and legit, showed up to entertain us. As my best friend from college would say, “It really not that bad!” So get your friends and come out. See what it’s like, and next week come and perform. You know you want to!
