Keys to Community: Sculpture Unveiling

Today, just an hour ago actually, James Peniston’s Keys to Community sculpture was unveiled in Old City Philadelphia. Sitting at nine feet tall in a courtyard at 4th and Arch St, the city’s firefighters teamed up with local school children to draw off the veil, which was hoisted up using a fire engine. Even Ben Franklin himself came out and gave a rather humorous speech.

Keys to Community: Sculpture Unveiling

Sitting just one block away from Franklin’s grave and three blocks from Independence Hall, the statue is certainly a wonder to behold. Read up on James Peniston and the sculpture in some previous Uwishunu entries, and be sure to go see it for yourself!

About the Blogger

Hi! I'm Eric. I'm a Springsteen-loving, Bon-Jovi singing Jersey boy who recently up and left, relocating to the awesome city of Philadelphia. I'm a full time graduate student at Arcadia University and work for GPTMC, causing my coworkers to wonder if I have any kind of life. I don't. I enjoy photography, writing, reading, and playing Halo III. I spend a lot of time fussing over my chinchilla, Mittens. He's adorable, and you'll love him.
