Battle of the Soft Pretzel
At noon today, you’ll be able to stop by the Independence Visitor Center and witness a battle of epic proportions. The battle (cue dramatic music) of the soft pretzel.
Some of the best pretzel makers from the region will be battling it out for the three usual categories; Best Traditional Soft Pretzel, Best Flavored Soft Pretzel, and Most Interesting Shape, as well as a new one this year, Best Decorated Table. Participating local pretzel companies include Philadelphia Soft Pretzel, Center City Pretzel Company, and Soft Pretzels Unlimited.
The event is free, so stop by on your lunch break! There will be samples of the competing pretzels available for visitors and locals. Be sure to visit the National Pretzel Month website for fun historical pretzel facts and recipes.
