Today we bring you yet another Red Bull Art of Can artist, Todd Marrone. The Art of Can exhibition launches on October 20th, at F.U.E.L.

1. Tell us a little about yourself and what you do in Philly.

Middle School Art Teacher by day, Modern Art Revolutionary by night.

2. Why did you enter the Art of Can contest?

I jump at any opportunity to share my artwork with others. Consequently, I do a lot of jumping.

3. What was your inspiration for your design? How long did it take to make it?

I created a winged fella based loosely on Red Bull’s “it gives you wings” ad promotion. The black outlines were painted live on stage during a performance with my band, the Hulihees. The musicians set the stage on (proverbial) fire with a rip-roaring jam as I flung paint onto canvas via a 1″ foam brush. The audio-visual performance took only about two minutes. Later in my studio, I added color with additional paint and sliced up aluminum cans.
