South Philadelphia Teen Idols Mural

Posted By: Chad Brown
Enough with the feud over who has the best Philadelphia Cheese Steak, sometimes you go down to 9th and Passyunk to stand on the street and argue who is the best Philadelphia teen idol.
Across the from the ordering window at Pat’s King of Steaks lies an abandoned mini golf course, above which rises a great mural of some of the neighborhoods legendary crooners and lady-killers. The five foot heads of Bobby Rydell, Jerry Blavat, Fabian, Frankie Avalon and some surprise friends gaze out as if to say, “We’re still around, watcha gonna do about it?” Rave on!

I agree – this is a great mural by local artist, Peter Pagast. Props Peter!

His work is so realistic. It looks like someone hung portraits of those men on the side of the building. His work is amazing.
