Local filmmaker Steve Janas has worked with uwishunu before, creating a cool video profile of mural artist Isaiah Zagar. Now he’s working on a new independent short film called The Tolltaker. Even with a low indy budget, it’s quite an ambitious undertaking, combining animation with live action. The animation is being done by students at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. Check out this little “making of” video showing the process of turning actors into animated figures.
