Join us as we light not one but two towering Christmas trees at the heart of Center City tomorrow, November 29th! Starting at 4pm-Make your way to Dilworth Plaza in front of City Hall where we’ll have arts and craft activities for the little ones who will be able to take home their very own ornament.s When the clock strikes 5, the honorable Mayor John F. Street will engage everyone in a countdown to light our first tree as the sounds of the Christmas holiday come alive!

The soulful cast of Ain’t Misbehavin who will be featured at the Prince Music Theater will perform, as well as a choir provided by The Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts. Bring your cameras because I heard thee Miss Philadelphia (ooooh!) will make an appearance. The celebration isn’t over yet because we still have the lighting of the second Christmas tree at Love Park! Members of the Community Classic Theater Company, CCTC, will have their annual Readers Theater Presentation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol and have plenty of goodies to share with the crowd.

I’m not finished yet! Once the ceremonies have ended, dash over to Macys at 13th Market to enjoy warm apple cider and cocoa with the sounds of the Philadelphia Boys Choir. Great way to kick off the holiday season, don’t you think?

About the Blogger

I was born in Philly but was made in China (it's tattooed on my right shoulder)! My parents thought I was quite the sovernior and appropriately raised me in Philly's chinatown. I'm first generation and proud of my culture and my city. Serving as a concierge at the Independence Visitor Center, I happily spend all day talking about Philadelphia to tourists and locals alike. It's an honor to be the host/tour guide of Chinatown for GPTMC's vodcasts. When I'm not pretending to be Mr. Philadelphia, I put on my ipod and cruise the town on my bicycle. People watching rules and so does Sugar Moms in Old City. I kill at skeeball! Living at the Italian Market is so great because it helps to fulfill my favorite pastime, eating!

I think the pictures got flip flopped… the first one is in LOVE park and the second one is on Dilworth Plaza… and by the way has anyone seen the giant tree in the Ritz Carlton. I saw it through the window last night. Wow, now that’s a tree!
