Takeshi Murata is a celebrated new media technician whose wrecked psychedelic video work is hypnotizing and disorienting. Screening, tonight’s host to his new piece Untitled (Pink Dot), calls his work “vivid, lysergic video that oscillates between damaged representation and pure abstraction.” Untitled (Pink Dot) takes Rambo, First Blood as its source material, widening and burning it to sun-blind abstraction.
