I had never heard of uwishunu until Brenda told me about it. Now I am on this site all the time. Love her articles about the music business people. I also enjoyed finding out about these little known spots in Philly. This is great when you have out of towners and need to take them out on the town. I went to Laura’s and Rick’s MySpace pages. There is music there for everyone’s taste. Love “Santa Baby” by Laura and “Heart and Soul” by Rick Harris. Keep up the good work, Bren!! I will be back, uwishunu!!

It is great to see someone is bring to light the wealth of talent in Philadelphia. This city has a heritage of being at the front of the music line. Outsiders know the likes of Gamble and Huff, Patti, Jill Scoot, and Boys II Men to name a few. But ask yourself…who was the first person who saw and wrote about them? Brenda, my hat’s off to you for your hard work and in depth interviews with Rick Harris and Laura Cheadle. I will be back for more. I hope this leads to more recognition of our musical treasures.

I’ve browsed this website for quite a while, but this is the first time I’ve actually ever responded. I must say, that I am a HUGE Laura Cheadle fan, and if you haven’t seen this wonderful performer live yet,… you are doing yourself a BIG disservice!

My husband (who is a musician) and I are big supporters of the local music scene, and we see live music at minimum once every two weeks. We feel very lucky to be in Philly, which is home to a lively music scene and many wonderful artists. Although we support many local acts, Laura Cheadle is without a doubt the favorite of my husband and me.

I found out about her first many months ago on MySpace. She is extremely personal (and goofy) both online and in person. If your her Myspace friend or ever been to a show, you’ll know what I mean!! I can’t believe she hasn’t made it big yet… she has the looks, a unique sound, the charisma, a wonderful soulful voice… in a nutshell, she has “it.” Something that my musician husband always comments on is that Laura’s band is extremely tight and better than many professional groups he’s seen.

I regretably can’t make tomorrow night’s performance, as I have to attend a holiday party for my work, but I’ll most definetely be at her next show. Kudos to you Brenda, for letting more people know about this amazing artist. Everyone else who doesn’t have plans yet for tomorrow… do yourself a favor and experience some “Philadelphia Soul”!! I have a feeling that she’s going to blow-up in the music world very big real soon. :)

I love Laura Cheadle’s music and seeing her and the band perform. I think it’s so cool that she’s tight with her family and that they record and perform together. She has a special gift and I’m glad that she entertains her audience every time she performs. I can’t wait to see her at World Cafe Live on Friday Dec. 7th 2007. Thanks for the great interview!

Thank you for an enjoyable article. I have seen her name around. Now I’ve got to check her out. I assumed that she was a folk singer. As fate would have it, I will be staying in the city after work tomorrow. This sounds like a good plan. I like the World Live Cafe. I have never had a bad time there.

Laura Cheadle is the Philadelphia area’s BEST singer-songwriter and performers. Not only that, but she is an AMAZING person and so personable at her shows. This article was perfectly put and I encourage everyone to go check her out live this Friday night! I will definitely be in the audience. She has the tightest band around and her vocals are amazing.

Hey little cousin!! I was impressed with your last month’s article. I think each one get’s better and better. It was a nice surprise to see your selection to inteview. I love Laura Cheadle’s music. i have her first CD…can’t recall the name right now. Someone needs to give me the new one for Christmas. (Did you get the hint?) Thanks for the heads up.
