Artists For Heat: This Thursday!

The hottest place to be the night of Thursday, January 31st will be at The Troc, where Public Enemy, The Roots, Everlast, Stanley Clarke and guest DJ Ali Shaheed from A Tribe Called Quest will be slamming supercharged musical current into the electrical sockets that are the audience’s collective ears in a benefit to raise money for Americans who can’t afford heat. Sandra Bernhardt will host these sizzling musicians, who will perform under the banner of “Artists for Heat.
The artists will donate proceeds from the concert to elderly and low-income Americans who may otherwise be forced to give up their homes or literally freeze to death because of their inability to heat their homes. This threat is especially menacing this winter, considering the price to heat an average home is predicted to rise by $400 and funding for a federal program to assist in paying home heating bills has been slashed by $1.7 billion, leaving 6 million citizens without heat.
The concert will also work to educate fans in energy conservation and alternative energy sources. This show guarantees to be on fire!
