Exhumed Films: Italian Horror on February 1st!
On February 1st Exhumed Films presents two classic giallo films at the International House (37th and Chestnut). Giallo is an Italian genre characterized by extended murder sequences featuring excessive bloodletting, stylish camerawork and unusual musical arrangements. Giallo has its roots in film adaptations of Italian pulp whodunit horror novels that typically had yellow covers (giallo is Italian for yellow).
Tenebre is legendary macabe Italian director Dario Argento’s return to the genre he helped define after making his two classic supernatural horror movies Suspiria and Inferno. Torso is directed by Sergio Martino who also made Slave of the Cannibal God and Screamers.
Exhumed Films is a collective of Philadelphia area folks who have been bringing B horror movies to the big screen in the region for over ten years. Exhumed Films makes a special effort to show films on the original medium and both these films are shown on 35mm film.
