Free Cell Phone Tour of Independence National Historical Park

So everything closes at 5pm, right? As unpleasant as that sounds, most historical and cultural institutions abide by that rule. Nothing is more disappointing than talking to a guest who either just finished a meeting or have just arrived in Philadelphia at 4:55pm. Ouch!
Independence National Historical Park wanted to help alleviate this growing concern by providing a free cell phone tour of the park.
The program covers 21 historic sites including the famous Liberty Bell and the lesser known home of Edgar Allen Poe who just celebrated his 199th birthday (which means an all out party next year!)
Each site lasts for about 3-4 minutes with the only charge coming from using your cell phone minutes. You could, of course, visit when your minutes are free after 9PM. I’ve witnessed people touring the area far after sunset.
Although it can never replace going inside a building- you won’t feel left out in the cold..
