Maple Sugar Day: March 1st @ Fox Chase Farm

Maple Sugar Day: March 1st @ Fox Chase Farm

Most people don’t know that there is a farm in Philadelphia, actually there are two! One is at Saul High School in NW Philly and the other is Fox Chase Farm in NE Philly. Fox Chase Farm is a wonderful place, a place I visited growing up in NE Philly. A perfect introduction to this gem would be Maple Sugar Day, Saturday, March 1st.

Fairmount Park Commission personnel and farm workers will demonstrate the process of maple sugaring. You can watch the making of candy and sample pancakes made with real sugar. Maple products will also be for sale. Hall and Oats aren’t the only sweet things to come out of Philadelphia!

Maple Sugar Day: Saturday, March 1, 2008
12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Admission: $3.00 Adults and Children

Check your math re: farms in philly. There are not 2, but rather 7. You’re forgetting: Greensgrow, Flatrock, Mill Creek, Weaver’s Way and Teens 4 Good Farms. Urban Ag is growing in Philly, baby!
