I finally went to James this past weekend... it was great. It is so lovely in there.

Kristina Burke (of the famous risotto a la Kristina) was a gem, and very helpful.

James is one of our other favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. The decor welcoming and the dining room staff unpretentious. They know what they're doing. They know how to treat their guests. There is nothing like a somalia who can share his wine selection with enthusiasm. But all of these would mean nothing if the kitchen doesn't know how to prepare very good to excellent dishes! Always a very enjoyable and satisfying dining experience at James :)

Note: The only down side is when the dining room has only a handful of diners, the music sounds uncomfortably loud. But when the dining room gets relatively full, the music doesn't seem loud. Interestingly, this is not because the chatter of the other diners drowned out the music system, but I think it's because the excess volume from the audio system is mostly absorb by the diners. Think sound absorbency.
