Shen Wei Dance Arts: This Weekend at The Kimmel Center
Head on over to the Kimmel Center this weekend for Shen Wei Dance Arts, an evening of dance, theatre, opera, painting, and sculpture. Blending Eastern and Western culture, Shen Wei Dance Arts explores a new form of 21st century dance. The performers demonstrate movement and art through multi-layer performances, using all kinds of artistic mediums. Opera, sculpture, theatre… nothing seems to be left out!
The program has two Philadelphia premieres. Map, which is set to Steve Reich’s The Desert Music, and Re, which explores the culture of Tibet.
