This afternoon, Darth Vader and a small platoon of Storm Troopers, along with Boba Fett, invaded Rittenhouse Square. Why? The
Franklin Institute’s Star Wars exhibit launches this weekend, and they’re promoting it.
Garrison Carida, part of the 501st Legion, a group of Star Wars fans who build fantastic costumes that are, at times, better than the original Star Wars costumes in the movie (those were held together with gaffe tape), will be at the Franklin Institute on Saturday, February 9th, for the opening of
Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination.
For more information on the exhibit, visit the Franklin Institute’s official website. See you there!

considering my early 80′s nightmare about Darth Vader cutting my sister and me up with tools from a doctor’s bag scarred me forevermore, I think I would have been verrrry scared had I had lunch in the Park today!!

Good stuff. I’m not so sure about Darth Vader giving a thumbs-up after having his picture taken though.
What happened to a good old-fashioned Force Choke?

May the force be with us – I am visiting Philadelphia and staying at the Loews. I had no idea about Star Wars – just bumped in to this in the park. Now I know why that girl was walking around with an R2D2 at the hotel today.

Lyle- if you’re staying the Loewes you HAVE to try their Star Wars themed cocktails at the bar. The Rancor Pit? The Rebel Scum? Even Jabba Juice for the Padawans.
