The Master & Margarita at Mum Puppettheatre

Ah, puppets. We’re fans of puppets here at Uwishunu. Whether its puppet karaoke or Avenue Q, they never cease to entertain. This is something the Mum Puppettheatre knows, and come February 13th, with the opening of The Master & Margarita, they’ll show you just how well they can do it.
Based upon the beloved novel, The Master & Margarita tells three stories. One of love, another about tragedy, and the last, a comedy, all of which come together. The cast of characters include the Devil, an artist and his lover, Jesus, Pontius Pilate, and more. Telling a story that serves a metaphor for good and evil, Lisa Shelby, Mum’s managing director, says that “the story asks the intriguing question that is critical for our time today: how far are we willing to go to remove any trace of the dark? Are we willing to remove any trace of shadow and shades of grey so that we’re left with only brilliant light?”
Adrienne Mackey, the director of the show, is known for creating and directing The Ballad of Joe Hill at Eastern State Penitentiary and Tribe of Fools at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Her work has also been produced at the Berkshire Fringe Festival.
