David Sirota Returns With A New Book: The Uprising

Post by Joel Tannenbaum
Former Philly guy David Sirota is in Willow Grove this weekend to talk about his new book The Uprising. Sirota has bounced for years between careers as a political operative and a journalist, turning up everywhere from the Ned Lamont campaign and AIPAC to The Nation and The Huffington Post.
Sirota, who grew up in Montgomery County, spent the last few years traveling around the country, hanging out with all sorts of grassroots political organizations, from third party activists in New York to union organizers in Seattle to anti-immigration vigilantes in Southern California. His conclusion? They’re all part of the same movement, even if they don’t realize it yet!
Sirota’s first book, Hostile Takeover was a New York Times bestseller. That, plus his recent appearance on “The Colbert Report,” and the fact that it’s an election year, should make for a good turnout and lively discussion.
SEPTA riders: Take R2 Warminster to Willow Grove Station. Take Easton Road to Park Avenue.
