Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts Annual Student Exhibition

The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts is the oldest art museum and school in the country. Founded in 1805, the present location at Broad and Cherry opened in 1876 and was designed by famous architects Frank Furness and George W.Hewitt.
Included in their collection is Thomas Eakins’s Gross Clinic and the painting of George Washington used on the one-dollar bill by Gilbert Stuart.
Since 1901, PAFA has been showcasing the work of their 3rd, 4th and graduating Masters of Fine Art students to the eyes of the public. Now in its 107th year, I was able to attend the preview party and see first hand two floors of amazing artwork.
Don’t take my word for it. Come enjoy the exhibit before its gone. Admission is only $7.00 for to explore the entire museum! What a deal!
