Yoga Unites on the Art Museum Steps: This Sunday!

Post by Ben Gilbert
Sunday morning is a great time to spend walking around the Philadelphia Museum of Art on the parkway, watching the sun rise and the early tour buses pull up to view our museums’ priceless works. Once in a great while, you’re treated to the sight of hundreds of people, young and old, women and men, moving simultaneously and holding positions few will ever take. And no, we’re not talking that kind of thing, we’re talking yoga!
This Sunday morning, May 18th, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., hundreds of people will practice yoga and learn about healthy living to help raise funds and awareness for Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s education and support programs at the 6th Annual Yoga Unites for Living Beyond Breast Cancer — and not just anywhere, but directly on the steps of our city’s most beloved institution.
Signing up is easy and pre-registering online saves you $10: if you’re an adult, you’re looking at $25 and $10 for children, which not only includes a basic, outdoor yoga class set against the Philadelphia skyline but also the Healthy Living Expo. Your entry fee also nets you a light breakfast and live entertainment, as well as the aforementioned opportunity to peruse the HLE (“featuring yoga and fitness studios, healthful foods, natural cosmetics and information you can use to make good choices about your mind and body.”) Pre-registration ends tomorrow (May 17th) but you’re still able to join in on Sunday, albeit with a higher registration fee, and sign-in starting at 8:00 a.m.
Though daunting, no prior experience is required and all information you may need can be found on the LBBC website. Hope to see you Sunday, bright and early!
