Showroom 77 Steps Out!
Given my tendency to hyperventilate when a new issue of Elle arrives (especially the fall fashion issue!), I think it’s safe to safe that I’m a confirmed fashion addict. And rather than seek treatment for my condition (two week solitary confinement to sweats and Crocs!), I’d rather indulge, seeking out new designers and hot trends before they hit the mainstream.
One quick way to find a fashion fix? The Showroom 77 fashion show, occurring Saturday, June 21 as part of the Kimmel Center’s Summer Solstice Celebration.
For those not in the know, Showroom 77 is Philly’s first legit fashion showroom, stocked with thousands of designer duds and accessories ready to be scooped up by local shops and buyers. Everything in stock is new new new, and the joint is typically appointment only (so unless you’re a distributor, stylist or celeb, fuggetaboutit), which makes stylish sashays like the SumSolCel all the more rare.
This weekend, catch funky items from local designers Walish Gooshe, Vintique & O di, Carioca da Gema, Retrochic by Pietra, Kemet Collective and more, as well as pieces from the Tamara Pogosian collection. Everyone knows that the first day of summer means new summer clothing”¦can you think of any reason NOT to indulge?
