Love of La Va

Post by Jonathan Wetstein
21st and South is home to some of the most famous coffee and Israeli salad (finely chopped lettuce) in the City of Philadelphia. Like your average independent café, the walls feature a variety of local artists and occasional music acts. The laid back atmosphere is of course filled with vintage furniture including the iconic sixties couch. Still within walking distance of downtown, La Va welcomes patrons at all hours of the day and offers desserts that range in prices many of which are pretty inexpensive.
My favorite feature to the café is the actual meals they offer. Often cafes will offer snacks but beyond a bagel or scone, you must graze else ware for a meal. La Va offers several great choices of sandwiches, salads or Panini that fill you up. As for dessert, their Oreo Cake is one I must say should be their mascot its just that good. Their most popular combo however would probably be their iced coffee and chocolate biscotti’s during summer months. They are open until 11pm on Saturdays and 9pm on weekdays including Sundays.
