Philly Fringe: Walking Fish 24-Hour Stand-up Marathon

Post by Kelly White, Photo by David Neibauer

What are you doing this Labor Day after you leave my Mediterranean-themed BBQ because I ran out of baba ghanoush? You could offer to replenish the feastings, but if you duck out for Walking Fish Theatre’s Comedy Marathon, I won’t fight you. Local riot acts Doogie Horner, Chip Chantry, and others who will attempt to make you laugh…over and over again. They’ve got plenty of time to do it, too.

Should you manage to stick around, there’s an open mic with sign ups every hour. Again, it’s either this, a marathon of the Office at home in your pajamas, or my BBQ with no baba. Happy Labor Day, son. You’re free to leave whenever you want, but if your threshold for jokes, impersonations, and pantomine is terribly impressive, you stand a chance to win a One Year Walking Fish Pass. That’s great if you enjoy local theater, and if you’re not a fan of it? Well, that’s kind of funny.

The 24-Hour Stand-up Marathon begins at midnight on Monday, September 1, until 11:59 AM on Tuesday. Tickets go for $5.00 at the Fringe box office or at the door.
