Studio 34: You Want To Be In This Place

Post by Tamara Oakman

Local artist Cait Davis is an experienced jack of all trades; writer, videographer, director, editor, painter, and actor. Let me add to that list that she is also a promoter for hip hop artist tU pHace, that she coordinated this premiere event at Studio 34, and you will see just how diverse this artist’s accomplishments are. If you want to be part of film history, you do not want to miss this debut by Davis whose talent explosion is going to fill up a night of Art, Music, & Film on Saturday, August 23rd, 2008 at 8p.m.

“IN THIS PLACE,” which is also being showcased at East Coast Aliens in Brooklyn, NY, “explores personal growth and development.” Davis says, “The movies I make tend to combine a sense of narrative while also using a kind of abstraction. I don’t know how to make work that isn’t personal.”

Come to Studio 34 at 4522 Baltimore Avenue for Davis and stay for artwork by local artists, (Alan Massey, Maryann Held, Ray Flynn, Djo Fortunato, Stefan Keitzman, Linda White, Derek Davis) and bands (Jared DesRuisseaux, Matt Beer, Fatima Adamu&Deidra Kelly). You will not be disappointed by this multi-genre marvel! The suggested donation is $5.00.

I liked the color contrasts used in the mixedmedia artwork that was on display at Studio 34 during the event.
