Did your mom make you watch ABC’s Pushing Daisies with her, too? Good, then you know it’s not that bad. Once you get past the fairy-tale narrative (I like to tune it out and focus on the sexual tension between the two mains), it’s a captivating romp for a Mom Show. The romantic drama all goes down in the Pie Hole, a bakery setting that sees owner Ned and his waitress Olive get sweet on each other. Wait, don’t run from Mother-Daughter TV Night yet. Ned’s got a dark secret that leads to a twist. He can’t touch Olive or she’ll die. Sounds like the boss-employee relationship you’d like to have, right?

Maybe you’re already a pie-hard fan (whoa). Or a baker at task to perfect your crust, your love life, and in need of a Wednesday evening television escape. I’m just a blogger who wishes that there was a Pie Hole in Philly so that I could have a serious piece of pecan.

On Friday, September 26 from 9am-2pm, The Pushing Daisies Touch of Wonder Tour sets up shop in Liberty Place for a day of freebies, balloons, and pie slices, right before the Wednesday, October 1st season premiere. Why not take Mom with you?

About the Blogger

I come from an enchanting place called Fishtown. At the moment, I'm a Bella Vista resident. As a freelancer writer and blogger rooted in Philly, I know an unhealthy amount about the city, but strive to use this information for good. It doesn't get better than french press coffee, questions, street-wandering, travel and dancehall. I write about food for City Paper and Living On the Vedge (livingonthevedge.blogspot.com). I enjoy blogging from uncomfortable places.
