In the summer of 2000, the Philadelphia Orchestra packed their bags and left the Avenue of Arts and moved to Northeast Philadelphia. Known as the Neighborhood concert series, they have provided the Orchestra the opportunity to connect with thousands of people who might not otherwise attend a performance. Now in its 8th year, they will end this season with a free concert at City Hall on Tuesday, September 23rd.

Throughout its 108th year history, the Philadelphia Orchestra has traveled across the world, produced an array of best-selling records, and even had their own conductor, Leopold Stokowski, imitated by Bugs Bunny. Despite such success, they but believe there is nothing like performing in their very own backyard. This is the first time they have ever played at City Hall.

Slated for 7pm, you will hear the classical sounds of Bernstein, Verdi and Gershwin. No need to dress up for this orchestra performance, come in whatever feels comfortable.
