Weekend Picks!
FRIDAY
Making Time with CSS
Transit, 600 Spring Garden
It’s one of the last nights you’ll have in these dark times when everyone is trying to sell you their thing by marking it down and calling it a bailout for you out to enjoy one of the only true modern bailouts, Sparks and damagingly loud dance music, before this joyous marriage is dissolved forever. 9pm, $2.

Philly’s Ultimate Office Party
Loews Hotel, 1200 Market
Bizarre high concept happy hour party sponsored by Loews, the Weekly and others. I guess the idea is that if you don’t have Christmas Beer Friday scheduled in your office, then you can go to this? Food and drinks are provided. Tickets are here. 6pm, $30.

Sister Souljah
Free Library, 1901 Vine
Lady’s got a new book out. Free Library says: “Sister Souljah’s debut novel, The Coldest Winter Ever, sold over a million copies worldwide and is credited with sparking the urban fiction reading revolution. A community activist who grew up in the Bronx projects, Sister Souljah founded the African Youth Survival Camp for homeless children, organized rallies against police brutality and racially motivated crimes, and served as the Executive Director of Daddy’s House Social Programs, the charitable wing of Bad Boy Entertainment.” 2pm, free.
SUNDAY
Santa’s House at City Hall
City Hall
On top of everything else that City Hall is and isn’t, it is now also a Christmas village where you can go see Santa, and tell him what you want. Since the naughty/nice bar is set so low in our town, it’s probably safe to assume that most requests will be considered. 11am-8pm daily, free.
ONGOING
Get on a Sled
Anywhere with an incline
Try a cafeteria tray on the hills at the St. Joe’s soccer field or head to any number of golf courses if you can make it further out Lancaster Ave.
Christmas stuff at the Kimmel
Kimmel Center, 260 S Broad
Nutcracker, Peter Nero and the Holiday Pops, and the Orchestra playing “The Glorious Sound of Christmas,” are all happening regularly this week. Tickets and times at the link above.
