SATURDAY

Symbiopsychotaxiplasm: Take One (dir. William Greaves, US, 1968, 35mm, 75 mins, color)
International House, 3701 Chestnut
Metamovie from the Janus collection. Says the blurb: “Director William Greaves presides over a beleaguered film crew in New York’s Central Park, leaving them to try to figure out what kind of movie they’re making. A couple enacts a break-up scenario over and over, a documentary crew films a crew filming the crew, locals wander casually into the frame. This wildly innovative 60’s counterculture landmark remains one of the most tightly focused and insightful movies ever made about making movies.” 7pm, $7.

Central Library, 1901 Vine
The most famous Poe reader lends his talents to the most famous Poe pieces. Poe himself turns 200 on the 19th. 1pm, free.

Being that I’m originally from the Charlotte area, I find it lovely that you mistakenly put the Hornets as the game on Friday, when it’s actually the Bobcats. I miss the Hornets being in Charlotte and they were my first professional sport experience, since when I was growing up down there we didn’t have the Panthers or Hurricanes!

Ahahaha they will always be the Charlotte Hornets in NBA Jam TE, which has always been larger and realer than life.

Also thanks to this correction I watched Muggsy Bogues videos for ten minutes.

By FAR my most favorite Hornet of all time. I mean, how could a 9 year old girl not love a man who looked like a dwarf but played professional basketball, and was GOOD!? He was everyone’s idol. “If Muggsy can play for the hornets, you can do anything you set your mind to!” Yeah, great memories right there :)
