Rufus Wainwright at the Kimmel Center

The incredibly talented singer-songwriter, Rufus Wainwright is set to take center stage at the Kimmel Center Saturday, February 14 at 8 PM. Step away from the winter chill and warm yourself with his cabaret-inspired works and pop-opera ballads like “Foolish Love,” and “Dinner at Eight.”
Wainwright’s Valentine’s Day solo performance of all-original songs will mark his Kimmel Center debut in Verizon Hall. His lyrics, his passion, and his stories transcend far beyond sheet music or notes on paper. In fact, Rolling Stone lauded Wainright’s self-titled debut in 1998 as one of the best albums of the year.
A truly family affair, Rufus’ younger sister, Martha Wainwright, opens the show with folk-rock inspired works from her recently released album I Know You’re Married, but I’ve Got Feelings Too (2008).
Wainwright’s program will include works from his recent album, Release the Stars (2007), as well as his latest Grammy Award®-nominated live album, Rufus Does Judy at Carnegie Hall (2007), among other albums released through the years.
