Melograno in Rittenhouse Square
It was an unseasonably warm night and I was out with a friend strolling along Rittenhouse Square enjoying the mild temperatures. With food on the brain and a walk that lead us far from our point of origin we stumbled upon Melograno, located on the 20 hundred block of Sansom.
It was Thursday around 7 PM and the place was packed. However, after a short wait, we sat down to this cozy enclave to sample some fine Italian cooking. The atmosphere is inviting and the wait staff is extremely friendly.
For an appetizer we tried the artichoke and scallop appetizer only to graduate to the portabella with goat cheese and toasted pine nuts. Dinner hit the spot, unfortunately there was no room for the chocolate lava cake, however, I’m hoping to save room for the next time.
This BYOB Italian eatery is sure to satisfy even the most epicurean tastes. Melograno is moderately priced and offers a fine dining experience. I recommend to anyone who enjoys a taste of Italy.

What an insipid write-up for one of the most celebrated Italian fine dining experiences in Philly! What were you thinking, uwishunu, when you published this unedited afterthought??

Okay Mr. Pony, I’d like to see your writing before you start criticizing other folks’.
I say those who can’t, criticize.

I couldn’t agree more, Pony. Insipid! An afterthought! I mean, after I read this write-up, ALL I did was convince my husband to go with me to Philly to try this place. OH, and I loved it, lava cake and all. I never would have heard of Melograno if it wasn’t for this ridiculous, insipid write-up.
