Second Annual PlayShop Festival @ Philadelphia Theatre Workshop

Forever Philly-centric, forever innovative, and forever educational; the Philadelphia Theatre Workshop kicks into high gear as it prepares for its Second Annual PlayShop Festival next week.
With a purpose for nurturing the creative minds of artists local to our fair city and surrounding “burbs,” the PTW will present plays from four up and coming playwrights.
The annual festival grants our playwrights the chance to have their shows produced, receive feedback, and allow changes to be made in a repertory over several weekend performances during a five-week period.
Nearly 40 artists, including actors, directors, designers and of course our playwrights have joined forces to present four developing plays that will be shown at the Shubin Theatre on Bainbridge.
This unique gift offered by the PTW allows audience members to provide comments and suggestions to our playwrights and directors who then have the opportunity to make the appropriate changes before the next performance.
The four plays premiering are Catherine Rush’s, The Loudest Man on Earth; Joe Byers’ Noori and the Infidels; L.E. Colston II’s, Solitary; and Lindsay Harris Friel’s, Traveling Lights.
All are invited and ticket prices range from $8.00 to $10.00. For more information about the festival and the plays please visit: www.philadelphiatheatreworkshop.org.
