Blue Note Records Party @ The Kimmel

Jazz is like the wind to many people in the age of rock and roll. All around, yet hard to grasp.
To hell with that! Just throw yourself in the middle of it and you come to terms with what jazz is all about. Jazz is as much about your personal experience as anything else. Listen to it at home, but when you can… and when the mood strikes you, get out and dive into the deep end.
Even those of us who don’t know squat about jazz know the record label Blue Note. It is more than a legend, more than the backbone of the jazz world. Try stopping out at AKA Music and ask them for a Blue Note sampler. Then head over to the Kimmel this Friday for a major Blue Note 70th Anniversary Party featuring an all star septet of Blue Note demi gods playing choice delights from seven decades of the Blue Note catalog.
Experience what jazz musicians like to call American classical music!
