Gourmet Magazine Lists Johnny Brenda’s in Eight Great Rock Venues with Great Food

In the last few years, Johnny Brenda’s has become a prime music venue in the city. That means a lot more concert goers are visiting the three-story Fishtown bar, but many head straight upstairs to the stage (and second-floor bar).
And that’s a damn shame, according to Gourmet Magazine, who recently named Johnny Brenda’s second on its list of Eight Great Rock Venues with Great Food. Anyone who has eaten at JB’s knows the food, and draught beer list, is equally as worth the trip as whatever uber-hip band happens to be playing upstairs. And better yet, the full menu is available until 1 a.m.
Gourmet is all about the raw bar at happy hour and the soft shell crab sandwich, though we hear the weekend brunch is pretty spectacular as well.

Hey Alex- thanks for the write up. I just want to mention that there is a typo that says “soft shell grab sandwich” instead of “soft shell crab sandwich”!

A much-deserved title, if I do say so myself.
