Happy Hour is definitely the best time of day during the work week. Spring is undoubtedly the best season, especially when it comes on the heels of a particularly stubborn winter. And, well, Flinging + Free = Fabulous. I’m no math whiz, but I’m pretty sure that means that the Kimmel Center’s Spring Fling, Free in the Plaza happy hour events are most assuredly worth a visit “” or many “” sometime over the next few weeks.

Every Monday through Saturday, from April 15th to May 8th (with the one exception of May 4th), the Kimmel Center is hosting happy hour festivities in its plaza between 5:30 and 7:30. Various live musical groups will create a casual cabaret-style atmosphere for drink-sipping, unwinding, and shaking off the work day. Like any happy hour worth its name, there will be specially-priced drinks and savory tapas, and they’ll also have daily raffle drawings and discounted tickets available for the evening’s featured post-happy hour performances.

The free entertainment will range from jazz, to dance, to classical, to pop. Highlights include captivating cross-genre singer Riyah Minyon on the 17th, Mark Sylvester’s groovy banjo tunes on the 21st, and the Johnny Cruz Latin Jazz Ensemble on May 8th.
