Sipping on Cocktails @ Girasole

Girasole, the newest addition to the retail mix at Symphony House, may be quickly gaining a reputation as a great place for authentic pastas, but it’s also the perfect place for a pre or post-show cocktail.
Ideally situated adjacent to some of Philadelphia’s best theatres, Girasole has a great selection of custom cocktails and quality wines. The bar area is right in front, which means it gets bathed in afternoon sun before your show opens and twinkles with the city lights from Pine Street after the curtain closes. The Villa Cieri Montepulciano D’Abruzzo, the house red, is rich and bold, while the house white, the Villa Cieri Pinot Grigio, has a crisp, clean taste – ideal for a summer evening.
If you’re not much of a wine aficionado, ask your bartender or the director of operations Andrea Luca Rossi for some advice on making a selection from the cocktail menu. Some of my recommendations include my personal favorites, like the Girasole Martini, the signature drink, which mixes Russian Standard vodka, amaretto, pineapple, and orange juice. If you like screwdrivers, you’ll love this tangy twist.
For those with a preference for citrus, the Girasole Bee Sting is a great summer cocktail. This martini is made with Tru 2 Organic gin, lemoncello, imported honey, mint, and lemon. Those who like a stronger taste will love the Blood Orange Margarita, made with Hornitos Plata tequila, Dekuyper triple sec, and a fresh blood orange puree.
