Back to the Future, Down by the River

This Thursday night (July 9th), catch a FREE outdoor screening of the 1985 classic Back to the Future. This event called “Your Flicks, Your Banks” is brought to you by the Schuylkill River Development Corporation. If you haven’t been down by the Schuylkill lately, you are missing out on a really beautiful part of the city. The lamps that line the river path cast a warm glow on the water, and the bridges have bulb lamps beneath their arches.
Everyone is invited to pack a picnic and a blanket to enhance the movie experience, which will start at dusk (about 8:15 pm). The screening takes place on the east side of the river, at S. 25th Street and Walnut Street underneath Walnut Street Bridge. Be sure to show up early to sign up for the IKEA raffle and grab some free snacks and beverages.
There are more movies to come this summer. Don’t miss The Goonies (July 23) and Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (August 6). Considering the cost of the movies these days, the chance to see one for free just can’t be beat.
