Center City Sips Spotlight: Tinto

As far as we’re concerned, any culinary endeavor by master chef Jose Garces needs very little introduction. So we’ll keep this short.

Tinto is our spotlighted restaurant for Week 9 of Center City Sips (tonight, 5 to 7 p.m.). Dedicated to the tastes of the Basque country (the coastal and mountainous region straddling Spain and France), Tinto dishes out its remarkable fare in Garces’ trademark tapas style.

Since tapas and sharing go hand-in-hand, Tinto is perfect for Center City Sips! So grab a table with a group of your friends and share a few servings of the night’s half-price appetizers (chicken brochettes and ham-wrapped figs). Sorry, drinks are for individual enjoyment only (which is how we like them anyway).

Tinto’s Sips offerings include:

Drinks:
- Beer ($2): Philadelphia Brewing Company Draft, Straubs Special Dark Bottle
- Wine ($3): Reds: Bacasis, Macabeo, Chardonnay, Pla De Bages, 2007; Whites: bacasis, Tempranillo, Merlot, Pla De Bages, 2007
- Cocktails ($4): Red and White Sangria, Mairritze (Blood Orange Mojito)

Food (all half-priced):
- Chicken brochettes (Marinated chicken and red grapes, garbanzo puree, truffled chicken jus)
- Higos con jamon  (Red wine braised figs wrapped in serrano ham)
